Łukasz Markiewicz, Ph.D.

Dr Markiewicz holds a master’s degree in Economic Psychology from the University of Warsaw, Poland, and a PhD in Psychology from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Wrocław, Poland. Prior to obtaining his doctorate, he obtained a Fullbright scholarship to fund his studies as a Research Fellow at Columbia Business School, New York, USA. Subsequent to his doctorate, he was a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Australia at the University of Sydney’s Business School.

Before entering academia, he was a marketing researcher for two leading international companies operating in Poland (AC Nielsen and GfK Polonia). 

He is currently head of Kozminski University’s Economic Psychology department and has research interests in judgment and decision making, and behavioral ethics. He lectures in the psychology of financial decision making and behavioral finance.

In his private life he is the father of two boys and is passionate about swimming and sailing.
